The Travel Roll
This method reduces bulk in your gear bag, and helps your uniform stay fresh during travel.
1) Stack
- Lay the jacket face‑up, lapels crossed neatly as you wear it (left over right), sleeves aligned along the torso.
- Fold your gi pants, and place pants centered on top of the jacket, waistband at the collar.
2) Form a long rectangle
- Fold the left third inward, then the right.
- Be sure to fold the sleeves back too.
3) Roll tight
- Starting from the collar/waistband end, roll tightly toward the cuffs.
- Keep tension even so the roll is solid and compact.
4) Belt strap
- Fold your belt in half and place it under the roll so that the gi lays near the folded end of the belt.
- Feed the two end of the belt through the fold until the belt wraps tightly around your gi.
