The First Day of Training

Every journey begins with a first step.

For 30 United Studios of Self Defense students, the first day of the Jackie Chan Stunt Team Training Camp marked the beginning of a rare opportunity: to train alongside world-class performers, experience martial arts traditions in China, and represent USSD on an international stage.

The day opened with a traditional ceremony honoring the generations of martial artists who helped shape the path our students continue to walk today.

Each student was then invited to demonstrate their martial arts skills.

It was their first opportunity to step onto the floor and represent the discipline, preparation, and commitment that brought them from their home dojos to Beijing.

While the students prepared, their families received a private tour of the Jackie Chan Stunt Team training facility.

The students later toured the facility as well, getting an inside look at the environment where generations of stunt performers have developed their craft.

The group also viewed a documentary exploring the history and legacy of the Jackie Chan Stunt Team. The film offered a deeper understanding of the discipline, sacrifice, teamwork, and creativity behind some of the most recognizable action performances in the world.

Then, it was time to train.

‍

‍

During their first official session, the students began learning foundational Kung Fu movements that would become the building blocks for the training ahead. It was a new style, a new environment, and a new challenge—but the principles were familiar: focus, repetition, humility, and steady improvement.

Day 1 was an introduction to the people, traditions, and training that would define the days ahead.

And the journey was only beginning.
